Rating:

In honor of it's 50th anniversary, Namco releases Namco Museum 50th Anniversary Arcade Collection that has 14 of its biggest, arcade classics lined up and ready to play. The game selection screen is a nice set-up of the original arcade machines, and while gamers decide whether to play Pac-man, Galaga or Pole Position, an 80's soundtrack is rocking in the background. Also, the arcade game screens and sounds are perfectly replicated lending the perfect authenticity to these classics. Plus, these don't require quarters, and that's always a good thing. We've said it before but it's worth repeating: Just because the graphics and controls are "simple" doesn't mean these games are easy. Chances are gamers will be surprised just how fast GAME OVER can flash across the screen from a few too many sloppy moves. Other games included are Ms. Pac-man, Galaxian, Dig Dug, Pole Position II, Rolling Thunder, Rally X, Bosconian, with a few, lesser known games like Dragon Spirit, Sky Kid, Xevious, and Mappy. Namco's Arcade Collection is one to take out for a totally tubular, good time.
