We can't count how many times we've told you that if you have a turbocharged car, it's absolutely essential that you let the turbo cool down before you turn the engine off; just a minute of chill will add years to the lifetime of your turbo. The turbo timer is an ingenious invention, allowing a person to leave the car running for a set period of time and then automatically shutting it off. But if you're poor like us and can't even afford an inexpensive turbo timer, we've come up with a few ideas to kill about a minute or so of time while you're sitting in your car.
