NaDsDc5RaCeR: I wanted to write a biting social commentary on the parallels between the unbridled hedonism at our Spring Break Tuner Bash and our attempts to stand out from the crowd with our tuner cars. The show was good, clean fun-unless you count those girls who got down and dirty when we told them we were part of the GGW crew. You missed out, you JDM Ding Dong. You really should make plans to come to The Bash next year.
This issue we also featured StephanPapadakis' new 1,420hp RWD Civic and Shaun Carlson's 900+hp (est.) FWD Dodge SRT-4. I could write volumes about that. Isn't it funny that Steph, the biggest baller in the front-wheel-drive ranks, would defect over to the rear-drive camp and now Shaun has partnered up with Mopar, one of the leaders in rear-wheel-drive technology? You would think it would be the other way around. But what do I know? It really makes you wonder where this sport is heading. Will the front-drives go the way of the carburetor, or are we witnessing the dawn of a new rivalry?
